Logistics

Logistics plays an integral role in most industry sectors, distributing goods within the retail and manufacturing industries. Drivers are prominent within industries such as waste management, courier and postal services.

The demand for temporary agency drivers weakened in 2008 as the costs of petrol and diesel increased. Many organisations responded by cutting back on the volume of transport they required and this, in turn, had a negative impact on the requirement for temporary agency drivers. However the demand for temporary agency workers is still significant in comparison to other industry sector.

From the 10th September 2009 a new legislative directive comes into force with the aim to improve the skills and knowledge of all LGV drivers. Drivers must obtain the new training certificate by 2014, for more on information please refer to our employment legislation section or email marketing@depoelconsulting.com
