Care Sector

In the UK today there are currently more than 180,000 care providers offering valuable services to elderly, sick and vulnerable people, as well as those with learning and physical disabilities, mental health problems and drug and alcohol addictions to name but a few.  Due to the sometimes demanding aspects of working within the care sector and the volume of workers required, the sector continues to operate with a constant shortage of permanent workers.

de Poel's vendor neutral recruitment model is unique to the recruitment industry.

With new restrictions on overseas workers and rising vacancies, care providers are facing recruitment pressures.  Far from escaping the effects of a notorious cross-sector skills shortage, the care sector is one of the biggest sufferers. Evidently, a lack of social care workers and nurses, despite rising unemployment, has dominated the headlines for some time.

In order to meet the needs of affected individuals and their families and to effectively staff care and nursing homes, care providers utilise an enormous amount of temporary agency workers.  Care providers use and rely heavily on temporary agency workers due to the lack of permanent skilled workers and because operating with a temporary agency workforce allows them flexibility and responsiveness to fluctuating demands. Temporary agency staff can be provided by recruitment agencies quickly, as and when they are required.  Temporary agency workers play a pivotal role within the care sector.

As a vendor neutral service provider, de Poel is a truly independent consultant. We are not a recruitment agency, nor do we have links with any one recruitment agency.

We work with organisations with large and complex staffing needs, who specifically wish to increase efficiency and process control, through technology as well as management.  By putting together an agreed panel of recruitment agencies in order to meet our clients' specific requirements we are able to effectively streamline and control supply chains on their behalf.

Companies such as care organisations who operate with fragmented supplier bases and use multiple recruitment agencies, with a wide range of fees and terms and conditions and no centralised control or mandate on operations, see more benefit from working with de Poel than with a master or lead vendor.

By maintaining existing client and agency relationships, we allow managers to continue to communicate their soft skill requirements to agencies, whilst at the same time ensuring that they do not have to negotiate terms or fees. By not mandating the use of one supplier, compliance to the panel and the approach is greatly improved.

de Poel ensures that agencies are motivated to work efficiently for their clients, through enhanced communication and pre-agreed terms and conditions, helping both parties to develop a more strategic, long-term partnership.

Additionally through data capture, we are able to provide a high level of management information on spend, candidates, equal opportunities and a multitude of other reports for our clients, which our competitors are unable to do.
