Permanent and temporary workers alike will soon be able to 'go mobile' as recruiters look to launch 'Apps' to aid agency labour demands.

Candidates will be able to source job opportunities through the unique technology, hoped to be launched later next month, enabling them to be never more than a touch away from moving towards their next career move.

The launch of the iPad has enabled recruiters to use the on the go software as a way of widening their scope and accessing candidates much quicker. It is believed that the technology will be especially useful to those seeking temporary agency labour, as the need to find skilled workers for interim roles comes to the fore.

In April, executive recruitment and IT outsourcing service provider, Harvey Nash claimed to become the first recruitment company in the world to successfully launch the iPad app with its Online Appointments Magazine. It has had more than 2,000 downloads to date, positioning itself in the top 5 business applications in some parts of the world, including India and the Far East.

Matthew Sanders, CEO of de Poel, the number one procurers of temporary agency labour thinks the ever evolving technology reiterates the need for companies to find ways to cut costs and increase productivity. He said: "At de Poel, our goals include streamlining administrative spend and reducing overhead costs for the clients we work for; this application strives for the same objectives through its ease of accessibility and could revolutionise the market for temporary agency workers."

Specialist engineering recruitment firm Orion Group is currently testing the software, although it should be available within the next month, with Duncan Murray, I.T.

Director for Harvey Nash stating that this will give everyone "a simple way to view the hottest vacancies".
