Andrew Preston

Andrew joined de Poel health+care in 2013 as Managing Director. He subsequently assumed MD responsibility for our newly formed education business and business development across the group.  In 2015 Andrew was appointed as Group Managing Director, with responsibility for the strategic development and operations of the entire de Poel group. Following an MBO led by Andrew in September 2016, he was appointed as CEO of the de Poel group.

Andrew is an experienced and recognised business leader with a global health and managed service background. Andrew has extensive experience of successful growth and development of various health businesses, working in FTSE 100 companies, PLCs, private equity backed and private organisations.

Andrew has undertaken and delivered the successful integration of numerous merger and acquisition projects including the sale of his own clinical service business to global service provider Serco Group Plc. Andrew has worked in the healthcare and wider public sector for almost 20 years after starting his career in the NHS.

Andrew is a recognised leader and was winner of CEO of the Year Award 2017 by Finance Monthly, in addition to featuring as one of the Top 100 most influential leaders in Europe by Staffing Industry Analysts. Andrew also delivered the company listing in the 16th annual Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 100. Andrew’s thought leadership has been published by Bloomsbury Professional as part of ‘Doing Business After Brexit: A Practical Guide to the Legal Changes’ ISBN 9781784519360.

Ivan Bumstead

Ivan joined de Poel in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer and brings a wealth of commercial finance experience to the de Poel finance function. Previously the CFO of Audley Travel, the private equity-backed travel company, Ivan started his twenty-two year career in finance at PriceWaterhouseCoopers before moving into corporate finance with P&O Ports in 2001. At P&O Ports Ivan was responsible for managing the acquisition of container ports for P&O for five years across the globe.

In 2006 Ivan joined First Choice (now Tui Group) , initially as part of an in-house M&A role buying holiday businesses including LateRooms.com, before becoming the finance director of LateRooms.com between 2009 and 2013.

At de Poel, Ivan is responsible for leading our finance function and managing the financial stewardship of the business.

Tim Flanagan

Director of Strategy and Commercial,

Tim Flanagan

Tim joined de Poel in 2017 as Director of Strategy and Commercial, with considerable Director-level experience gained through strategic consultancy assignments and holding senior management positions in FTSE 100 companies. Tim has previously held Managing Director positions at Serco and Capita, as well as being a managing partner of a strategic management consultancy business.

Tim is responsible for driving value across de Poel’s existing client base, as well as developing further commercially relevant and viable propositions to add to the organisation’s current solutions portfolio. Additionally, he is responsible for strategic development and ensures de Poel continues to meet the needs of its clients.

Joe James

Joe joined de Poel in 2015 as the organisation’s Group Head of Technology following a successful career in the tech world since 2002. An accomplished Technical Leader with over 14 years of experience of complex delivery for clients in Telecommunication (mobile/fixed line), Defence, Financial Services and Health sectors, Joe has worked for BAE and Barclays, as well as running his own software development company.

At de Poel, Joe leads a large in-house development team and is responsible for ensuring our proprietary software, e-tips®, delivers superlative visibility of temporary recruitment spend and performance. This includes creating and rolling-out an ongoing programme of feature enhancement and cutting edge performance.

John Walker - Our People Image

John Walker

John Walker joined the board as Chairman and non-executive director in 2016, following the successful completion of the de Poel management buyout.

With a twenty-year career with leading European Private Equity firm, Equistone Partners Europe (previously Barclays Private Equity), John has considerable experience in leading and negotiating management buyouts and providing subsequent advisory support in a non-exec capacity.  To date John has advised the boards of over 20 organisations as a non-executive director or shareholder representative including global online retailer, Fruugo (backed by ex M&S chief, Lord Stuart Rose), the independent insurance broker A-Plan Holdings, and is additionally on the board of the consultancy division of one of the UK’s fastest growing challenger law firms, gunnercooke.

John joins de Poel to support the board in delivering both corporate governance and strategic growth plans.
